Happy Bday Dad!

I'm away having some fun with Nana and Papa. I was sad to miss dad's birthday, but glad to see him and mom having some fun. They enjoyed a Royals game. Happy Birthday daddy!

Paradise Park

Today I had a play date at Paradise Park with friends. It's a little drive, but worth it! We started the morning off in the ball pit and then headed over to the pretend play area. The pizza shop was my favorite, imagine that...food! Then we had some water fun and finished with outdoor play.

Open Wide

Monday I had my first dentist appointment. I did very well and had a great time. Mom and dad have really stressed the importance of taking good care of my pearly whites! It has paid off since I received a great report. A few things though. I have all my top teeth, but missing one on the bottom. I have crowding, so the tooth my be under another one. I will also need a braces check around age 7. Really??? When I was done Dr. Evans gave me several goodies and let me pick 3 things out of the treasure box. He even made me a balloon animal. I can't wait to go back!

May Graduation

The tassle was worth the hassle as tonight I graduated from preschool to pre-K. I'm going to stay another year with Ms. Marianne, then go to a school setting preschool and then it's off to kindergarten with mom. I had a fun time tonight. We sang our calendar time songs and "Sally the Camel" is my favorite song. Then we received a dipolma and graduation bear. We ended the evening with a special treat....A MS. MARIANNE CAKE....YUM-O. Thanks Ms. Marianne for a great year of learning and growth. I look forward to the fall!

Little Mashers

Take me out to the ballpark, take me out to the game! Today I had my first t-ball game. The name of my team is the Little Mashers. I'm learning to hit the ball, run the bases, fielding and playing together as a team. The first game went well and I did a pretty good job. I tend to be a little of a ball hog and can get upset when I don't get the ball. I'm working on being a team player. I like all the boys and little Kaitlyn (she can hold her own)! I look forward to the season and "mashing" some teams!

MO State Girls

Tonight the family and I headed out to enjoy dinner at Chili's. We quickly got in, which is unusual for a Friday night. Mom and I colored at the table and then I headed off to the restroom. I always feel the need to check out all restrooms. I did my business and then started to wash my hands and noticed a girl standing behind me. The girl had a familiar shirt on. I thought to myself, hey I have a shirt like that with a bear on it! I started yelling at mommy, which was embarrassing for her. The girl was wearing a Missouri State shirt and also played softball for the bears. Mom and her spoke about the college years for a short moment. When we headed back to our seats I noticed a table full of girls wearing "BEAR" wear! It was the girls softball team from MSU. I just couldn't resist getting my picture with the entire team. HELLO Ladies!!!! Best wishes for a win against Drake.

Happy Easter!

April 3, 2010

We are gearing up for the Easter weekend, so we are off to visit the bunny. I'm usually okay with these things, but this year I wanted no part in sitting on his lap or even by him. I convinced mom and dad to push the stroller close to him and I would get a picture. Then I became very upset because I told the bunny what I wanted and he didn't give it to me. Mom and dad tried to explain that we had to wait until Easter. I didn't realize the Easter bunny would come to my house and leave a treat for me. So we went home and began to get things ready for Easter Sunday. We dyed eggs and then I decided to place my baskets outside my room. Then came the boring part of waiting, waiting, and waiting. I also wanted my bedroom door closed, which I never do. I didn't want the Easter bunny to come in my room!

Chuck E. Cheese Party

I've been waiting for this day......can you say Chuck E Cheese! Oh boy it was a blast. My close friends and family made the party, despite the horrible weather outside. We enjoyed some pizza and cake while waiting for Chuck E to make his appearance. Did I mention he scared me a little? It was worth it, once it was game time. Thanks again for celebrating # 3 at the "Cheese" with me!

I'm 3!

Well I'm another year older. Mimi, nana, papa and Abby all came to town. I started my birthday off with Disney on Ice and McDonalds for lunch. Then it was a little rest time. Then we headed off to the Texas Roadhouse to dine with some cowboys. I sat on the saddle, which I didn't like. The cute servers sang to me and I was super shy the entire time. The family and I headed back home for some gift opening time. I love all of my new goodies. Thanks family for the wonderful birthday and goodies. Mom is going to talk now.....
I have a 3 year old and I know that I say this every year, but how can my little man be 3! I'm just so sad that 3 years have come and gone. The last year has been wonderful and full of challenges as well. Hudson is very much into boy things. He loves cars, balls, pretend play, blcoks, reading and has really been into batman lately. Hudson has become very independant and gets very upset if you try and offer help. This is nice, but sad that he doesn't need us as much. We are diaper free and that is a nice feeling as far as money goes. It took Hudson about 3 days and no regression since then. I'm truly amazed with Hudson's vocabulary and his eagerness to pick new things up. We have also noticed a huge change in his attitude. Hudson can be very stubborn and likes things when he wants them. We need to work on being more patient, but what 2 year old is good at that! These days we are spending more time on the steps to think about our choices. I keep telling myself consistency and one reminder will pay off in the long run. Do you think that sounds like the teacher in me?
I love to watch Hudson interact with his friends, which we are blessed to have so many. Hudson still spends one day a month with his DAM club friends and that is a great friendship for him and us. It has been fun watching them grow together and develop their own personalties. We signed Hudson up for t-ball, which begins late spring. We are very excited to see how that goes. I think it will be a lot of dirt digging and melt downs. The Herriman family is looking forward to another year of growing and adventures with the Hud man. Thank you Hudson for your love, memories and just being the best boy you can be.
I want to end with a list of things I love about Hudson (good and not so good)
-when mom says no, Hudson will reply back with "I said yes"
-his love for learning, especially reading
-when he ask "why not"
-we ask Hudson a question that he knows the answer to he responds "I can't remember"
-when he tells me to "change my attitude"
-watching him play with his toys and talking to himself during interacting with his toys
