Easter Egg Hunt
On you mark, get set, GO! I went on an Easter egg hunt today. My daddy's co-worker had an Easter gathering at his house. I played with some new friends and had fun hunting for egss. Well, I didn't really care about the eggs, but inside was a special treat. CANDY! The candy was something I had never tried before, but I was not allowed to eat it. BOO HOO! I would open the eggs and shove the candy right into my mouth (wrapper and all). Mom and dad would come running over to get it out. YUM!

Happy Birthday to ME!
Today was my first birthday and it was a great day. Mom and dad spent the whole day with me and we had a great time. Mom is on spring break and dad took the day off. I got up this morning and had mini waffles and applesauce. I'm really getting into this solid food thing. Then I opened a few presents. It was exciting! I got a soccer ball and a gas station. I love watching the cars go around and around. Then I took a nap. While I was napping mom and dad got ready for the day. After waking up it was off to the Legends for some shopping and eating. We were going to eat at the T-Rex cafe, but it was over an hour wait. Many of you know that I love to eat and I just couldn't wait that long. It was sure fun and I will have to go back there soon! We decided to eat at the Chop House and it was yummy too! I had some fries and grilled cheese. YUM-OH! Then I napped again as the parents shopped around. It was a great day and it was all about me! I'm having a party at the end of the month, so be on the lookout for those pics. I'm not a baby anymore, but a toddler! Mom wants to say a few things.....
Hello everyone!
I can't believe this day has arrived. It seems like we were just bringing little Hudson home. I must say that was the best day of our lives. Chad and I were so excited to meet Hudson. I have actually been dreading this day for the past 2 months. My little man is not a baby anymore! It's bittersweet for me. I'm excited to watch Hudson grow and develop into a young man. I'm sad that he is not a baby anymore and is growing up. As I look back on the past year it was a struggle those first few weeks. I thought this would be a piece of cake and I thought I was ready to take care of a baby. I mean I did work 3 years in an infant room at a daycare, but that never prepared me for my own child. Hudson was a great little baby until about week 6. Oh boy! The crying would start about 5:00 and end around 11:30. What was wrong? Tears would be flowing down my face and I just didn't know what to do. It lasted for about 2 weeks and after several calls to the doctor we figured that Hudson was dealing with colic. Thank goodness for Hyland colic tablets! After those weeks were over Hudson was a happy boy. The next months Chad and I enjoyed watching Hudson's personality develop. It has been a great experience watching him grow and figure things out on his own. His problem solving skills are amazing! We love his laughter and everyday we laugh at something he has done. He has a great sense of humor too. He also loves to cuddle, which I hope continues. I must admit though I think he might be a daddy's boy. I know that Chad and him have a special bond when Chad stayed with him for 12 weeks. It takes a special dad to do that and Chad has a stronger appreciation for stay at home moms now!
As the months continued so did Hudson's personality as well as his appetite. He loves to eat and has never complained about any food. When you are eating Hudson has to be eating too! Watch your plates too as he can be very fast! Hudson has been eating some solid foods the past month and loves it! We are about done with bottles, because he continues to push them away. We have a birthday celebration planned for the end of the month and I'm super excited to see Hudson's reaction to his cake.
Lastly,I want to take this time to thank all of our family and friends for celebrating Hudson's first year of life. We thank you for your support and love. Many of our friends have babysat for us on several occasions and we appreciate that. It has been nice to take some mommy and daddy time together. Chad and I love being parents and it has been such a rewarding experience. We have such a huge responsibility to mold this little person. I finally understand why all those mothers are crying when they drop their child off the first day of kindergarten. I can now say that will probably be me! Hudson thank you so much for your love and laughter. We enjoy each day with you. We love you today, tomorrow and always.
XOXO,
Mom & Dad
